The Dutch city of Haarlem will be the first in the world to ban the advertising of meat products. The ban will come into effect in 2024 and will cover a list of products with a high climate impact, including meat.

According to Greenpeace, achieving the EU goal of climate neutrality by 2050 means reducing meat consumption to 24 kg per person per year. The European average is currently 82 kg.
