Atlante launches spreadable feta: rustic soul, authentic taste

For over ten years, Atlante has been a specialist in Greek products. In 2025, the company expands its assortment with a significant new addition: spreadable feta in a tub format under the Kionas brand, a modern and practical take on one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic cheeses.
This launch marks another step in Atlante’s strategy, which focuses on responsible innovation to enhance tradition and meet evolving consumer needs.
“In 2025, we set out to transform a staple of Greek food culture into a product that is even more accessible and versatile.
The spreadable feta retains the authenticity of traditional Greek flavour, combined with the practicality modern life demands,” comments Michela Mastropasqua, Category Manager at Atlante.
“Working closely with our R&D department, we focused on new product ideas capable of surprising the Italian market, without losing sight of our roots.

The context: Greek products on the rise in Italy
The Italian market is showing growing interest in Greek products, increasingly associated with healthy, authentic and flavourful eating.
According to Nielsen data (AT 30/06/2025), the Greek specialities segment reached a value of €631 million, with +23% growth in value and +27% in volume compared to the previous year.
Among the most dynamic categories are Greek cheeses, led by feta: €108 million in value, +20% in value and +23% in volume.
This trend rewards brands that successfully combine authenticity, wellbeing and innovation in format. The new Atlante launch fits precisely into this scenario.
