Ricette pulite e sapori etnici: Atlante presenta le novità Vegamo 2025

9 July 2025
The plant-based market continues to grow, driven by an increasingly diverse shelf offering and by more conscious and attentive consumers. In Italy, the phenomenon is now well established: as of the end of June 2025, the total retail market is worth €760 million, with a +9% increase compared to the previous year (source: Nielsen, 2025).
Within this context, chilled meat alternatives are among the most dynamic segments: the market is worth €221 million and has once again seen double-digit growth over the past year, with a +15% increase in value and +20% in volume (source: Nielsen, 2025). It remains the most important category in the plant-based sector after plant-based beverages. This trend is also confirmed by our internal data and drives us to continue investing in research and development of new products, always aligned with market trends and the needs of the modern consumer.
Vegamo 2025 innovations: Tofusion and Protein Bites – clean-label and globally inspired
In an interview with the Italian magazine Food, Marco Catinari, Category Manager for the Plant-Based sector at Atlante, introduces the new Vegamo 2025 products: “In response to an increasingly informed and mindful consumer, our R&D department has developed five new Vegamo-branded products in line with two key trends:
Clean-label and recognisable ingredients: according to a study by EIT Food, 67% of European consumers prefer foods with clear labels and free from ultra-processed ingredients. The new Vegamo products stand out for their high vegetable content, focusing on simplicity, transparency and taste.
International cuisines: Italians are showing growing interest in global flavours and recipes inspired by world cuisines. In fact, 25% of consumers enjoy cooking dishes from other countries (source: Nielsen, 2025).”
“Our 2025 range under the historic Vegamo brand meets both these trends,” continues Marco Catinari. “It is designed to offer products with recognisable ingredients, featuring high percentages of tofu and/or vegetables, ensuring quality and transparency without compromising on taste, and embracing the most loved ethnic cuisines among Italians. Our Protein Bites are burgers rich in vegetables and distinctive in flavour: they are available in the classic Vegetable flavour as well as in Thai and TexMex variants. The Tofusion line, on the other hand, introduces a unique concept to the Italian market for the first time. These are a mix of tofu, vegetables and spices, available in two versions inspired by iconic Asian cuisines: one with a Japanese flavour and one with a Korean twist.”
A lasting commitment to conscious eating
Atlante continues to be a point of reference in the Italian plant-based landscape, thanks to its ongoing commitment to anticipating market needs and offering solutions that combine taste, quality and wellbeing. The new 2025 range is the result of careful consumer listening and a path of innovation that begins with the selection of raw materials and leads to the development of clean, original and well-balanced recipes.
